Why pink?
Pink is a great color for girls and women as well as businesses where their branding revolves around this popular color.
It is ideal for baby girl nurseries, princess or fairy tale bedroom themes, young ladies rooms if you choose hot pink or just for a more feminine touch to any room.
It exudes warmth and is pretty and inviting. The number of shades or patterns are endless so you can make subtle or bold statements as the mood takes you.

Shelves
Shelving is the not the type of storage where you get to hide away your clutter but if you’re after pink storage then the chances are you want things on show. Pink shelving is ideal for displaying books or ornaments or just for giving easy access to items that you use a lot. They come in various shapes and sizes from wall mounted to floor standing. If you are considering the wall mounted variety just make sure that what you want to store is not too heavy or it and the shelf may fall off the wall.
The types of wall shelf available include shelves with pegs underneath offering shelf and hanging storage combined or magnetic shelving where you can use magnetic knobs to stick notes or pictures to the side as well as storing things on top. There are also funky cube shape shelves that offer two shelf sides to house your items.
Hanging shelves are an alternative to the wall mounted ones. They are perfect to hang in a closet or could be adapted to hang from a ceiling to keep them on show. Pink storage baskets
A pink storage basket offers a handy but cute look for your bits and bobs. It is best for storing items that you want on show rather than just clutter as they are generally open topped so everything will be visible. These baskets typically come in sets of two or three and are generally made of rattan or willow but use a removeable and washable pink liner to soften the look.
Sets may come with either baskets of the same or different sizes but either way the two will nest inside one another for easy storage when not in use.

Pink drawers
ClosetMaid seem to have the market for pink storage drawers covered. They make their 10.5″ cubed woven fabric drawers in a huge array of colors including fuschia and baby pink. They are easy to find sold singly although you can get better value for money with a two pack. They are designed to fit into the ClosetMaid 6 or 9 cube storage organizer but go equally well under the bed, on the floor or on the shelves of another storage unit of an adequate size; they can even be used in the kitchen. They need minimal assembly from their folded flat packing state, which means they can easily be stored away again if not in use. They are also stackable due to their rigid and sturdy sides. Buy a few of them to sort kids toys into some sort of order – they are the ideal size to store similar things so kids can find what they are looking for by peeking in the top. They are not see through so look tidy when stored away on a bookshelf or the floor. They only have one handle so are great for pulling off a shelf but less so for carrying about.
For a pink storage drawer unit, have a look at the Badger Basket Lightweight three drawer unit. It’s pink and white dot design would be perfect for a baby’s room, where you could store baby clothes, diapers etc. The wooden frame is white and the drawers are made of canvas. The unit does need assembling when it arrives, but this is easy and the drawers pull out nicely once made.

Unfortunately pink plastic storage drawers seem to be impossible to find. They would be great being easy to clean and lightweight and a rolling cart like piece of furniture could be an ideal accessory in any room. Manufacturers listen up as we want pink plastic drawers!
One option is to make your own by accesorizing existing plastic drawers with pink drawer pulls
Pink storage bins
For some pretty hot pink storage bins made from polypropylene, try these small, medium and large sets. They come in packs of 12 for small and 6 for medium and large. They are translucent so you can see what is in them and have reinforced finger holes so they are easy to lift and carry about. They have a solid steel frame to keep their shape and the polypropylene is easy to clean. The pack of small ones is especially good value with each bin costing just over $2 each. Being such a large pack they are ideal for students or those with a home office or craft items to use to store all of their bits and pieces in, although any household will be able to put them to good use somewhere! Bear in mind they are not as tough or thick as plastic bins so are not suited to heavy items but they are very lightweight.
For a pink storage bin you will gladly have on show, consider those from Trend Lab. They are made from pretty fabric and come in small, medium and large sizes. The removeable liner is attached via a hook and loop system so can be washed easily. There is also a label window so you can mark each bin with what you are storing. There are a number of designs available in pink including spirograph, tulip, maya and paisley park, which match with other Trend Lab home accessories such as picture frames and window valances. There is no longer any reason for your pink canvas storage bin not to tie in with the rest of your decor.
For kids, there are a number of very functional pink storage bin organizers for toys. 4Gr8 Kidz has a wide selection. It is definitely pretty in pink and is bound to be popular being covered with Dora images. The nine bins are medium sized and made of durable plastic.
Pink storage ottoman/pink storage bench
A pink storage ottoman would be a perfect compliment to any pink themed bedroom or living room. They are great to sit on to for a quick chat, or to use when doing your make up, and double up as handy storage space. They come in colors such as baby pink and hot pink as well as pink and white checked patterns, paisley designs and even one themed from Disney’s High School Musical.
Shape wise they are either oblong, square or round. They are typically quite plain shapes although for a more traditional feel, you can find Queen Anne style options available.
A pink storage bench is more of a bench seat with storage below. For a princess themed bedroom, this toy box bench seat would be perfect. Not only does it offer a nice place to sit and relax on the padded cushion but also a large space to store things. The hinge on the seat lid is a safety hinge so closes slowly and the whole thing is made of a sturdy solid wood to stand the test of time. For pink storage benches that are a little less flamboyant, Home Kidz and 4D Concepts are two options to consider. Both are well thought of although the Home Kidz version is quite a bit cheaper. They are great pieces of furniture in that they have two purposes – seating and storage. Both are sturdy and offer nice pink designs.
Pink does not seem to be a popular color to use in standard plastic storage boxes. They are mostly clear but you can get red and blue for your kids if you shop around. There are some polypropylene pink storage bins available (see above) but these are not suitable for heavier items. Food storage does attract a few pink plastic options however.
Bento Buddies do a set of 4 different sized pink containers for food. They are microwave and dishwasher safe and do not contain any BPA. They are ideal for lunch boxes as the smaller ones fit inside the larger one.
Superseal also do a 48 piece food storage set in pink – what more could you need! The boxes are stackable and can be used in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The set includes boxes in different shapes and sizes, so there should be one suitable for any storage need.
Pink storage tote
If you want something a bit more portable for every day use than a pink container, why not think about pink storage totes. The selection of Scout bags by Bungalow seem to top everyone’s lists at the moment. Their Pocket Rocket tote bag is effectively a 15″ square bag by 5″ wide. Pink storage cubes
Storage cubes are modern and funky and when bought in pink, they will be eye catching to say the least. A popular option is the 3 Cube Storage Unit by Storage Solutions. These 13″ heavy duty polypropylene cubes are stacked on top of one another or in various other ways of your choosing within the sturdy steel frame. The system is easy to assemble and clean and will support heavy loads. Being pink it will look great if on show in a bedroom or could also be used in a closet. If you buy more than one set you can make even larger systems, which would be ideal for somewhere like a kids playroom. You can also buy a 15 cube set of smaller cubes (only 6″) that are sold as shoe storage but could really be used for anything.
Another option are the Way Basics Eco Modern Storage Cubes. These come in a variety of colors including pink and are made of recyled paperboard offering an eco friendly storage option. They are lightweight and waterproof but strong and durable, being able to serve as a step stool if need be. The cubes are approximately 11″ and come with a backer board. They are assembled with 3M adhesive strips so no tools are required – you just peel off the sticky covers and stick the boards together. They can be stacked in any arrangement to create a bold, yet simple design.
